[14:06:46]<cweagans>heh. well, good to see you in here.
[14:07:09]<niccolox>the nyccamp folks all used slack
[14:07:23]<niccolox>which seemed to be freenode with style
[14:18:29]<niccolox>for the record, I prefer freenode

[23:42:05]<ergonlogic>hefring: tell cweagans sigh... well it's unfortunately pretty much par for the course
[23:42:05]<hefring>ergonlogic: I'll pass that on when cweagans is around.
[23:42:51]<ergonlogic>hefring: tell niccolox slack is slick and all, but I prefer irc too
[23:42:51]<hefring>ergonlogic: I'll pass that on when niccolox is around.
[23:44:35]<ergonlogic>hefring: tell cweagans It sounds like you're beginning to flesh out the architecture you have in mind for AegirNG. Care to post a summary to develop@?
[23:44:35]<hefring>ergonlogic: I'll pass that on when cweagans is around.
[23:45:58]<ergonlogic>hefring: tell cweagans also have you been in touch with mlhess? If we could adopt what he already has running, we could work on getting a working prototyp that we could iterate on
[23:45:58]<hefring>ergonlogic: I'll pass that on when cweagans is around.
[23:46:45]<ergonlogic>also, I haven't had a chance to clean up Ran much. I think I'll just rename it (from aegir4 to ran), and post as is

[06:50:07]<hefring>cweagans: 7 hours 4 min ago <ergonlogic> tell cweagans also have you been in touch with mlhess? If we could adopt what he already has running, we could work on getting a working prototyp that we could iterate on
[07:35:50]<cweagans>ergonlogic: have you looked much into the new version of Open Shift?
[07:36:03]<cweagans>ergonlogic: http://www.openshift.org//
[07:36:08]<cweagans>ergonlogic: it's basically Aegir 4 :/
[07:38:59]<cweagans>built on top of Kubernetes, has an API/command line utility + a web UI
[07:39:04]<cweagans>the UI isn't very good, though.
[07:40:52]<anarcat>woot
[07:40:57]<anarcat>does it run on debian now?
[07:41:57]<cweagans>anarcat: The openshift installer doesn't run on debian, but the kubernetes team is in the process of adding debian support to the ansible playbooks
[07:42:16]<cweagans>and then openshift can be manually installed on top of kubernetes
[07:43:00]<anarcat>turtles all the way down
[07:43:51]<cweagans>I'm not sure what that means :P
[07:53:02]<cweagans>bringing up an openshift instance locally to play with it

[09:13:42]* DecipheredAFK is now known as Deciphered
[09:24:01]<anarcat>cweagans: i thought you meant that somehow openshift was installed within openshift, i may have misunderstood
[09:24:21]<cweagans>Openshift can be installed on top of Kubernetes
[09:24:22]<anarcat>i guess kubernetes and other packages would need to make it through first before openshift would make sense
[09:24:33]<anarcat>on debian that is
[09:24:42]<anarcat>even docker isn't in a very good state in debian right now
[09:24:43]<cweagans>Kubernetes can *almost* be installed on Debian
[09:24:59]<anarcat>all this stuff is way too unstable for official debian packages anyways
[09:25:06]<anarcat>it basically changes completely every year
[09:25:09]<anarcat>so eh
[09:25:15]<cweagans>Yeah, for sure.
