[02:01:43]<ergonlogic>hi all
[02:01:59]<anarcat>https://www.mail-archive.com/misc@openbsd.org/msg144351.html
[02:02:54]<helmo>hi
[02:02:56]<ergonlogic>anarcat: thanks for the update
[02:03:19]<anarcat>nasty shit
[02:03:42]<ergonlogic>helmo anarcat happy new year
[02:03:50]<anarcat>same to you :)
[02:04:01]<gboudrias>hi
[02:04:01]<hefring>bonjour
[02:04:01]<helmo>ergonlogic: Yes, same to all
[02:05:06]<ergonlogic>I was called in for Jury duty last Thursday. So i missed the scrum
[02:05:19]<ergonlogic>sorry about that
[02:06:03]<helmo>I have not received a response from http://www.drupalcontrib.org, so we're still alone with our api site
[02:06:31]<helmo>ergonlogic: any idea how much work it would be to update?
[02:06:44]<ergonlogic>I can look into it today
[02:07:06]<ergonlogic>mostly git pull and run the api.module cronjobs, I guess
[02:07:18]<helmo>hopefully
[02:07:36]<ergonlogic>I'd had it set up on a cron to to the git pull and stuff, at one point, but I guess it got neglected
[02:07:38]<anarcat>ergonlogic: whoa, that's pretty exceptional here no?
[02:07:54]<ergonlogic>anarcat: getting released from jusry dity?
[02:08:06]<anarcat>well, getting called for jury duty at all
[02:08:25]<ergonlogic>yeah, it's random, based on registered voter rolls
[02:08:34]<ergonlogic>and few trials go to jury anyway
[02:08:45]<ergonlogic>most are settled with plea bargains, etc.
[02:09:04]<anarcat>yeah, that's what i thought
[02:09:25]<ergonlogic>but they have to call in about 500 people to form a 12 person jury, with 2 alternates
[02:09:33]<anarcat>oh right
[02:10:10]<ergonlogic>that process takes almost 2 days
[02:10:15]<helmo>glad we don't have that here
[02:10:47]<ergonlogic>so I had to wait around for most of a day to get a 30 sec audience with the judge
[02:10:58]<ergonlogic>I'm kinda disappointed, too, actually
[02:11:18]<ergonlogic>I'd be curious to see how it all works
[02:12:00]<ergonlogic>but I couldn't afford 4 months off
[02:12:27]<helmo>not many working people can I presume
[02:12:49]<ergonlogic>actually, if you have a normal job, you're kinda stuck
[02:13:12]<ergonlogic>employers aren't allowed to fire you or anything
[02:13:34]<ergonlogic>but it only pays $106/d
[02:14:18]<ergonlogic>anyway...
[02:14:34]<ergonlogic>helmo: I'll see about getting the api site updated
[02:14:45]<helmo>OK
[02:14:51]<helmo>I'd like to get a release out before Fosdem(jan 31)
[02:15:04]<helmo>maybe next week
[02:15:07]<ergonlogic>ok, great
[02:15:22]<helmo>I'll do some more Drush 8 review
[02:15:39]<ergonlogic>all our tests were passing with drush 8
[02:15:54]<ergonlogic>though I just started seeing some failures yesterday, iirc
[02:16:18]<ergonlogic>not sure if those are related to drush8 though
[02:17:23]<ergonlogic>looks like it's composer that's failing to install
[02:17:43]<helmo>Havn't had much time to look into those,
[02:18:45]<ergonlogic>PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'RuntimeException' with message 'The HOME or COMPOSER_HOME environment variable must be set for composer to install correctly'
[02:18:58]<ergonlogic>shouldn't be too hard to fix
[02:19:09]<ergonlogic>I'll try to look into that today too
[02:19:41]<ergonlogic>for my part, I've been playing around with Openshift/Kubernetes
[02:20:25]<ergonlogic>https://github.com/ergonlogic/frigg
[02:21:44]<ergonlogic>that's just some shell scripts to build a Vagrant VM, install openshift, then install Drupal on it
[02:21:51]<ergonlogic>still pretty basic
[02:22:20]<ergonlogic>just something to bootstrap experimentation and such, at this point
[02:24:46]<ergonlogic>Anyway, I'm going to kickstart the coop paperwork again
[02:25:04]<ergonlogic>as I've been getting further interest in support services
[02:25:34]<helmo>nice
[02:26:05]<gboudrias>cool!
[02:28:11]<helmo>I've arranged to meet with drupol on FOSDEM, no other responses as of yet.
[02:29:28]<helmo>And I've been tinkering a bit on Drulenium, but as usual time has been a scarse resource :(
[02:30:12]<ergonlogic>nicholas is speaking on Drupal at a Linux expo
[02:30:31]<ergonlogic>on Aegir, I mean
[02:31:04]<ergonlogic>https://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale/14x/presentations/diy-drupal-cloud-...
[02:33:15]<ergonlogic>anyway, I'll be in touch as I make progress on the coop stuff
[02:33:30]<ergonlogic>but otherwise, I'm going to go back to nursing a cold
[02:33:34]<ergonlogic>and fixing the api site

[07:38:06]<Emde>Hello everybody :)
[07:39:29]<Emde>I have to migrate some Drupal sites from one Aegir to another one
[07:40:21]<gboudrias>Emde: Hi
[07:40:30]<gboudrias>Emde: I'm guessing you're already using Remote Import? https://www.drupal.org/project/hosting_remote_import
[07:41:19]<Emde>gboudrias: I have already found it, but its lack of documentation makes me really lost
[07:41:36]<Emde>Maybe I can't google or something, but I could only find this: https://aegir.readthedocs.org/en/latest/usage/sites/importing/#remote-im...
[07:41:58]<gboudrias>Emde: Hmm fair enough, I'll put it on my todo
[07:41:59]<Emde>I managed to enable the module by myself, but when I go to the section '
[07:41:59]<Emde>Import remote sites
[07:42:02]<Emde>'
[07:42:07]<gboudrias>(go on)
[07:42:20]<Emde>I get the 'Set up required' message
[07:42:31]<gboudrias>Emde: You need to a a server first
[07:42:31]<Emde>And I really don't know what I have to set
[07:42:46]<Emde>Oh, ok
[07:42:53]<Emde>I will give it a try
[07:43:13]<gboudrias>Emde: This should be a good start: http://cgit.drupalcode.org/hosting_remote_import/tree/README.txt
[07:47:41]<Emde>gboudrias: Thank you :). I think this readme should be attached in the docs, maybe it's not a full source of knowledge but has a basic howto
[07:47:48]<gboudrias>I added the README info instead of the todo notice, should help future users at least
[07:47:56]<Emde>Which is really helpful for Drupal/Aegir newbies like me ;)
[07:48:14]<gboudrias>Emde: It's done :)
[07:48:14]<Emde>gboudrias: That's great, thanks!
[07:48:26]* mstenta has quit (Ping timeout: 255 seconds)
[07:48:33]<gboudrias>No problem, thanks for raising the issue
[07:53:17]<Emde>Okay, and the 404 of http://aegir.readthedocs.org/en/3.x/remote-servers/remote-servers/#ssh-keys
[07:53:26]<Emde>gboudrias: is it a bug or a feature? :D
[07:54:06]<gboudrias>Emde: Probably just a changed URL
[07:54:59]<gboudrias>Emde: Does this look like the right link? http://aegir.readthedocs.org/en/3.x/usage/advanced/remote-servers/#ssh-keys
[07:55:08]<gboudrias>Yeah probably
[07:59:34]<Emde>gboudrias: The search engine of readthedocs.org is kinda weird because it gives me no result when I query 'remote servers'
[07:59:37]<Emde>https://readthedocs.org//search/?q=remote+servers&check_keywords=yes&are...
[07:59:48]<Emde>Thank you again :)

[09:00:59]<Emde>gboudrias: okay, I managed to set up remote server and install a module on an old Aegir (it's 1.9)
[09:01:20]<Emde>but I can't fetch a list of sites
[09:01:29]<Emde>I get the SQL error:
[09:01:31]<Emde>You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ':status' at line 1 query: SELECT sn.title as site, pn.title as platform FROM hosting_site hs INNER JOIN node sn ON hs.nid = sn.nid INNER JOIN hosting_platform hp ON hs.platform = hp.nid INNER JOIN node pn ON hp.nid = pn.nid WHERE hs.status = :status database.mysqli.inc:134
[09:03:11]<gboudrias>Emde: Make sure you're using the right version of remote_import on both servers
[09:03:17]<gboudrias>I'm guessing the other one is Aegir3?
[09:03:32]<Emde>That's right
[09:03:53]<Emde>So is it possible to import sites automatically from an older Aegir?
[09:04:24]<gboudrias>Yes, they need different versions, and the old Aegir needs the provision extension as well (though I don't think that's the problem here)
[09:04:40]<gboudrias>https://www.drupal.org/project/remote_import
[09:04:55]<gboudrias>(in /var/aegir/.drush)
[09:05:02]<gboudrias>(it's the backend for https://www.drupal.org/project/hosting_remote_import in Aegir2 and lower)
[09:07:15]<Emde>gboudrias: wait, let me sum it up
[09:07:25]* inteja has joined #aegir
[09:07:27]<Emde>1. On the Aegir3 i use a vanilla configuration
[09:07:42]<Emde>2. On the Aegir 1 I have installed remote_import version 6.x-1.x-dev
[09:08:00]<Emde>and placed files in /usr/share/drush/commands/provision/
[09:08:14]<Emde>because I discovered that's a provision directory in my server
[09:08:32]<Emde>and according to readme it should be in a provision directory
[09:08:43]<Emde>What have I to do now?
[09:08:45]<gboudrias>Emde: You need hosting_remote_import on both servers
[09:09:01]<gboudrias>Emde: The standard is to put provision extensions in /var/aegir/.drush
[09:09:06]<gboudrias>(because they are provision extensions)
[09:09:16]<gboudrias>provision extensions are drush extensions, sorry
[09:09:41]<gboudrias>Actually you have hosting_remote_import in Aegir3, you only need to enable it
[09:10:39]<gboudrias>Importing sites from Aegir2 to Aegir3 is pretty well tested, I don't know about the other way around.
[09:11:24]<inteja>I'm running Aegir 3.2, installed late last year using debian packages on Ubuntu 14.04. I just followed the "Upgrade with debian packages" instructions and all seemed to go well - Aegir shows it's running a new platform, but in the Drupal 'available updates' page it's still showing aegir modules out of date. Any ideas?
[09:12:36]<Emde>gboudrias: I've put remote_import to /usr/share/.../provision because I had an error about missing provision.service.inc, so I found the file using the 'locate' command and it was in /usr/share, not /var/aegir/.drush
[09:12:56]<gboudrias>inteja: We'll try and do a release soon (probably next week), see if it helps then
[09:13:01]<Emde>/usr/share/drush/commands/provision, to be more specific.
[09:13:15]<gboudrias>inteja: As long as they're not security updates it doesn't matter too much
[09:13:37]<inteja>gboudrias: ok thanks, will wait for next release
[09:14:00]<Emde>gboudrias: should I copy provision to /var/aegir/.drush?
[09:14:36]<gboudrias>Emde: You should move it yes, but it's just a convention to make things easier
[09:15:29]<gboudrias>Since /usr/share/drush/commands/provision gets updated every version (not sure if it removes extra files though)
[09:16:16]<Emde>OK, I get it. This server is going to be disabled soon, so we can ignore it
[09:16:45]<gboudrias>Emde: Maybe this will be easier if you make an issue with all the details, especially all the versions
[09:17:02]* gusaus has quit (Quit: gusaus)
[09:17:32]<gboudrias>A support request I mean: https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/hosting_remote_import?categories=All
[09:18:02]<gboudrias>(ergonlogic has worked on it a lot more than me, he'll likely notice the issue if you do)
[09:23:05]<Emde>gboudrias: OK, I thought it's a simple PEBKAC, not a possible issue with the module ;)
[09:23:44]<Emde>What are the best practices about making an issue? I mean what log files I should attach etc
[09:24:43]<gboudrias>Emde: Mainly as long as you describe the problem (especially when it happens) and the versions of everything we should be able to help. Probably put the tasks' log in pastebin (it's usually really long)
[09:24:51]<gboudrias>Or in a text file
[09:25:09]<gboudrias>(I guess a text file is better for information permanency)
[09:25:38]<Emde>Sure
[09:25:39]<gboudrias>Make sure the log doesn't have any sensitive information
[09:48:48]* mstenta has joined #aegir
[10:04:53]<Emde>OK, so the issue is done. https://www.drupal.org/node/2650596
