[10:07:19]<maelstrom>Hi all ;) what's a reason that make all verify tasks in aegir loop infinitely ..without any error output ... ?? How can investigate these kind of weird behavior ?? Any suggestions will be appreciated , thanks ;)

[12:28:21]<ergonlog1c>hefring tell gusaus Hey Gus! As others have pointed out, our main support offering (http://aegir.coop/operations/services/support/) is geared principally towards Aegir itself. However, the Co-op's consulting (http://aegir.coop/operations/services/consulting/) and managed services (http://aegir.coop/operations/services/managed/) might be of use to OpenProducer and other community-driven distros.
[12:28:21]<hefring>ergonlog1c: I'll pass that on when gusaus is around.

[03:22:12]<ergonlog1c>maelstrom: You mean that tasks get stuck in a 'processing' state, with the spinner going on and on? Probably due to an unrecoverable error crashing the task process. You could try running the task directly from the CLI with Drush: `drush @hm hosting-task <task_nid> --force --debug`

[03:33:45]<maelstrom>We have already resolved the problem by restarting the server it seem that some Obscure process is the original problem

[05:34:45]<gusaus>Where’s the core Aegir group located outside of Montreal?
[05:34:45]<hefring>gusaus: 17 hours 6 min ago <ergonlog1c> tell gusaus Hey Gus! As others have pointed out, our main support offering (http://aegir.coop/operations/services/support/) is geared principally towards Aegir itself. [05:35:12]<gusaus>ha
[05:43:05]<gusaus>Not sure if that’s from hefring or ergonlog1c - regardless… ya, I’ve been doing a lot of outreach on behalf of Aegir in https://opencollective.slack.com/ - adjusting the scope of OpenProducer based on my recent experience trying to involve skilled, available Drupal folks
[05:50:41]<gusaus>I’m talking in so many rooms, I probably said that already… essentially OpenProducer Collective will be an enabler of OSS projects in the media vertical - so supporting Aegir is in-scope and yes, there’s definitely a need for consultants in that space
[05:52:17]<gusaus>also 3rd party integration, module dev, etc

[05:55:50]* tommycox_ has quit (Ping timeout: 244 seconds)
[05:57:13]* tommycox has joined #aegir
[05:57:44]<gusaus>I’ve been directing everyone to OpenCollective since a ton of other OSS orgs are already there - and I’m getting sick of talking to myself there :P
[05:59:37]<anarchat>gusaus: ... from ergonlog1c
[06:00:27]<anarchat>gusaus: you may enjoy using a tool like irccloud or ircanywhere to communicate over irc if you are unhappy with its asynchronous / not always connected nature :)
[06:00:48]<anarchat>matrix also tries to occupy that problem space
[06:02:00]<gusaus>anarchat: Most of my chats are in Slack - I am thankful :)
[06:02:17]<anarchat>yeah, i understand where you're coming from
[06:02:42]<gusaus>Think I heard there was a way to integrate IRC into Slack? or maybe it’s the other way around
[06:03:20]<anarchat>you can connect to certain slack rooms with irc, if the room operator bends over backwards and some more things
[06:03:26]<anarchat>it's a bit annoying, i tried and failed before
[06:03:31]<anarchat>but slack doesn't talk to irc
[06:05:29]<anarchat>freenode needs to run a public bounder like irc anywehere
[06:05:32]<anarchat>that would be a killer
[06:08:49]<gusaus>Honestly this is really the only room in IRC that I’m paying attention to… really not much happening in other Drupal rooms - the other OSS communites I’m working with are on Slack
[06:09:24]<anarchat>i know

[06:11:02]<anarcat-ic>odd, it seems this stays online even with the free account
[06:11:04]* anarcat-ic shrugs
[06:11:15]* anarcat-ic has left #aegir ()
[06:11:59]<gusaus>what’s that?
[06:12:52]<anarchat>oh, it's for two hours after 7 days
[06:12:55]<anarchat>gusaus: irccloud.com
[06:13:09]<anarchat>probably not worth it for you if you have only one channel
[06:14:17]<gusaus>no - especially if more folks from this room join us in Slack :D
[06:15:24]* anarchat shrugs
[06:15:28]<anarchat>i won't join slack, that's for sure

[06:19:40]<liammcdermott>Isn't Slack proprietary?
[06:21:17]<liammcdermott>Seems it is, and there are Free alternatives, not sure why the Drupal community are forcing proprietary software on people.
[06:21:59]<gusaus>Joining their Slack room isn’t a requrement for setting up an OpenCollective - which is OSS iteself https://github.com/OpenCollective
[06:22:14]<anarchat>liammcdermott: +1
[06:22:41]<liammcdermott>Oh github, another proprietary piece of software the Free software community seems to love.
[06:23:21]<gusaus>I think it could be another means to sustain Aegir project
[06:23:38]<liammcdermott>Mind you, I am on Twitter an awful lot these days. :)
[06:25:35]<gusaus>Twitter has always been great to reach out and connect w/ folks
[06:25:37]<liammcdermott>OpenCollective looks interesting though, it's a bit sad that ideas like it haven't taken off, maybe this time ItsHappening™
[06:26:27]* tommycox_ has quit (Ping timeout: 250 seconds)
[06:28:21]<liammcdermott>anarchat, what are you doing around here? I thought you buggered off/had enough of Aegir? :)
[06:28:36]<gusaus>liammcdermott: I’ve been aware of or involved with many of the failed Drupal attempts - OpenCollective is the best model I’ve seen - and they’ve actually set it up to last
[06:29:03]<liammcdermott>Good, I really hope it works
[06:30:05]* tommycox has joined #aegir
[06:31:21]<gusaus>they have a small team - I’ve been trying connect them with people who could help directly with their project. they obviously hae a system set up where devs can get paid (if they want)
[06:39:37]<gusaus>Actually if we start doing OpenProducer meetups where Aegir and OpenCollective are projects — Slack won’t really be a blocker :)
[06:41:30]<anarchat>liammcdermott: that is correct, i'm just ranting against slack
[06:42:20]<liammcdermott>anarchat, ah nice. What're you up to these days?
[06:42:26]<liammcdermott>(if you don't mind me asking)
[06:42:46]<liammcdermott>Also 'anarchat' -- I see what you did there.
