[04:19:45]<joshr_>any way I can prevent some lines from being added to platforms apache conf?
[04:19:51]<joshr_> Satisfy any Require all granted are breaking stuff for me
[04:21:14]* theMusician has joined #aegir
[04:27:24]<helmo42[m]>joshr_: quick and dirty would be to remove the from the specific platform.tpl.php file
[04:27:39]<joshr_>so i did that
[04:28:23]<joshr_>but when i verify existing platforms, aegir3:/var/aegir/config/server_name/apache/platform.d/platform_name.conf has them again
[04:28:25]<helmo42[m]>joshr_: It would be nice if we could do that from a hook like drush_hook_provision_apache_vhost_config ... but I don't think we have that at the moment
[04:29:00]<helmo42[m]>then you didn't have the rigjht platform.tpl.php
[04:29:17]<joshr_>ahh
[04:29:43]<joshr_>and
[04:29:57]<joshr_>oops, sry paste broke
[04:30:01]<joshr_>yeah there are 2
[04:31:50]<joshr_>thx, fixed
[04:47:09]<helmo42[m]>Europe has now also switched from DST ... Scrum in 15m?

[04:59:56]<helmo42[m]>anarcat: In the Debian repo instructions it mentions to limit an apt-source to a subset of packages, thus making sure we don't ship a libc6 version accidentally... But how is that configured? I only see the source line extended with a signing key. I'd expect a line with a pattern for package names ... in our case "aegir*,drush*,php-console-table".
[05:00:20]<anarcat>helmo42[m]: yes, that could be added to the instructions, indeed
[05:00:28]<anarcat>helmo42[m]: but basically, the pinning restricts what the packages provided can do
[05:00:41]<anarcat>since it's "100", it's below official repositories (500) so packages won't upgrade
[05:00:53]<anarcat>naturally, if you don't already have libc6 installed (!) you still could install it from the third party repo
[05:02:48]<helmo42[m]>anarcat: one abuse vector there would be to add packages for common typo's
[05:03:10]<anarcat>yep
[05:03:43]<anarcat>see this for more fun like that: http://incolumitas.com/2016/06/08/typosquatting-package-managers/

[05:06:50]<helmo42[m]>:) I think I read that one
[05:08:01]<helmo42[m]>Hi all, ergonlog1c bgm jonpugh colan cweagans gboudrias memtkmcc .. Scrum time?.
[05:10:40]<bgm>o/
[05:11:07]<memtkmcc1>yes
[05:11:28]<helmo42[m]>I spend some time today doing maintenance on the Coop's vps, tightening it a bit to prepare for hosting our debian repo.
[05:12:11]<helmo42[m]>And I spend some time drafting a maintainer companies and sponsors section on http://aegirproject.org/ https://github.com/aegir-project/aegir-project.github.io/pull/3
[05:13:55]<helmo42[m]>With that we could give some visibility to to the maintainer companies and sponsors... I need some help to make it pretty though.
[05:14:58]<bgm>I'm not good in design by any means, but I can help with CSS if necessary
[05:16:57]<bgm>as discussed already, I worked on moving hosting_civicrm's tests from github+jenkins to gitlab.
[05:17:16]<helmo42[m]>memtkmcc1 offered to sponsor me some time, since the zeus server they we're sponsoring is about to be end-of-life'd ... Many thanks :)
[05:18:06]<bgm>cool
[05:18:37]<helmo42[m]>bgm: I'll be focussing next week on more gitlab test stuff
[05:18:55]<memtkmcc1>thanks helmo42[m] for the continued, tireless work on that boring server stuff :-)
[05:21:30]<helmo42[m]>about the styling ... it would be nice is it was a bit "responsive"
[05:22:01]<memtkmcc1>zeus EOL is April 30, but times flies fast.. so, are we ready to move before that date?
[05:23:31]<helmo42[m]>memtkmcc1: yes my target is April 15
[05:24:11]<helmo42[m]>Two things that could use some feedback ...
[05:24:14]<helmo42[m]>'Remote import' from experimental to Advanced? https://www.drupal.org/node/2865478
[05:24:14]<hefring>https://www.drupal.org/node/2865478 => Promote 'Remote import' from experimental to Advanced [#2865478] => 0 comments, 1 IRC mention
[05:24:24]<helmo42[m]>A variation on the import documentation. https://github.com/aegir-project/documentation/pull/33
[05:24:37]<memtkmcc1>ok
[05:30:39]<bgm>I'm not very familiar with that technique, but the doc seems good.
[05:33:34]<helmo42[m]>I've used it a few times over the years and every time hated myself for not writing it down the time before that ;)
[05:34:00]<memtkmcc1>we have documented Remote import in BOA context a long time ago, and it just works, I think: https://github.com/omega8cc/boa/blob/master/docs/REMOTE.txt
[05:37:12]<helmo42[m]>bgm: s/SSL/https is committed
[05:40:16]<memtkmcc1>BOA comes with a batch migration tool, so it migrates complete Aegir instances with all sites between remote machines, but it is a different story/purpose: https://github.com/omega8cc/boa/blob/master/docs/MIGRATE.txt
[05:42:44]<memtkmcc1>of course it could be easily adjusted to do the same magic for classic Aegir in /var/aegir
[05:44:27]<jonpugh>Hi helmo42[m] ... Everyone.
[05:44:45]<memtkmcc1>hi jonpugh!
[05:45:04]<jonpugh>This week I worked on the docker containers, making the hostmaster container upgradable
[05:50:20]<helmo42[m]>hi jonpugh

[05:56:10]<jacobembree>Is the setup provided by https://github.com/aegir-project/development intended to leave an existing Aegir installation untouched?
[05:57:06]<jonpugh>That's strictly designed for local development of aegir. It creates a fresh install from scratch
[06:00:36]<jacobembree>Okay. Since I already have Aegir installed and don't want to break it when developing, I should look at the dockerfiles repo instead; is that correct?
[06:00:36]<jacobembree>I'm quite new to Docker but have used it a little.
