[02:23:54]<roycroft>hi, folks
[02:24:02]<roycroft>i'm looking for aegir logs
[02:24:11]<roycroft>are they stored in the database or somewhere in the filesystem?
[02:24:35]<roycroft>i'm trying to figure out what my boss did when he broke an aegir install
[02:45:31]<roycroft>what i can see so far is that my boss installed a new platform and that verified fine
[02:45:49]<roycroft>then he tried to import a remote site using the new platform, and named that site "sites"
[02:45:52]<roycroft>and that's when aegir blew up
[02:46:48]<roycroft>i restored /var/aegir/hostmaster-7.x-3.9 and the hostmaster database, and it seemed to work ok, but the new platform was no longer there
[02:47:09]<roycroft>then my boss restored /var/aegir/hostmaster-7.x.3.9 from a different aegir master, and it all broke again, of course
[02:47:25]<roycroft>then he did some stuff (while i was on vacation) and it mostly works now
[02:47:55]<roycroft>but that "sites" site is still there - i'm going to take a snapshot of this aegir master vm ,then delete the node and see if it still works
[02:48:16]<roycroft>but the real problem is that none of the tasks run automatically, and some of them cannot be run even manually
[02:48:38]<roycroft>i'm not sure which ones yet, because it's my boss reporting this, and i haven't had time to check it out yet
[02:48:55]<roycroft>i'm putting out a lot of fires on my first day back from vaation
[02:53:06]<roycroft>deleting the 'sites' node seems to have had no ill effect
