[04:13:50]<helmo42[m]>Hi all, ergonlog1c bgm jonpugh colan cweagans gboudrias memtkmcc .. Scrum time?.
[04:14:34]<jonpugh[m]>Hi helmo42. I got nothing :)
[04:15:39]* shaneonabike has left #aegir ("PART #drupal-commerce :PING 1497550538")
[04:15:57]<helmo42[m]>jonpugh: busy week?
[04:16:26]<jonpugh[m]>Sick, actually.
[04:16:45]<jonpugh[m]>Still fighting the tail end of a cold
[04:16:50]<helmo42[m]>:(
[04:17:11]<jonpugh[m]>Since I have you, can I ask something about the Debian packages?
[04:17:28]<helmo42[m]>sure
[04:18:03]<jonpugh[m]>Are makefile and profile configurable, and if not could we add them?
[04:18:42]<helmo42[m]>makefile is definately configurable
[04:19:00]<jonpugh[m]>As I move things from devshop, i am reminded we have very different needs
[04:19:13]<jonpugh[m]>Makefile for hostmaster is? Ok that's good
[04:19:31]<jonpugh[m]>--profile option works in drush hostmaster-install now.
[04:19:42]<jonpugh[m]>I use it for devshop containers
[04:20:16]<jonpugh[m]>I think it would be great to make it a Debian option, then devshop and others can use the core upgrade path
[04:21:36]<helmo42[m]>jonpugh: aegir/makefile is the var to use for debconf-set-selections
[04:22:01]<helmo42[m]>scripts/ci-aegir-stable-install-apt-debian8.sh has an example of how to set these vars
[04:22:56]<helmo42[m]>I'm sure we can add one for the profile
[04:23:33]<jonpugh[m]>Cool. When I get around to looking into this I'll try to update docs
[04:25:47]<helmo42[m]>jonpugh: the patch is almost ready
[04:27:17]<viashimo>helmo, for d.org #2883695 should I create a patch on the release notes somewhere?
[04:27:26]* viashimo is kienan on d.org btw
[04:29:54]<helmo42[m]>viashimo: sure, it's on github ;)
[04:30:23]<helmo42[m]>viashimo: It can even be a pull request if you like ... https://github.com/aegir-project/documentation/blob/gitlab/docs/release-...
[04:31:08]<viashimo>helmo42[m]: can do :)
[04:35:23]<helmo42[m]>jonpugh: debs are ready for your testing in https://gitlab.com/aegir/provision/builds/18773209 .... https://www.drupal.org/node/2886587

[04:36:24]<viashimo>helmo42[m]: wouldn't it be in 3.12, given that 3.11 is out?
[04:37:56]<helmo42[m]>viashimo: AH, yes ... I'll setup a draft file
[04:38:12]<jonpugh[m]>Wow, helmo42, now that's what I call service!
[04:38:39]<viashimo>helmo42[m]: if it's just taking the boilerplate from the others, I can probably do it as part of the pull request
[04:39:03]<viashimo>helmo42[m]: of course, there are many things I don't know about :)
[04:39:45]<helmo42[m]>viashimo: yes, that's basically what I do ... clean out the old lines and add 'DRAFT' to the title ;)
[04:40:18]<viashimo>helmo42[m]: k
[04:42:07]<helmo42[m]>I spent some time on the Debian repo, It's now validating OK in Debian stretch.
[04:42:35]<helmo42[m]>And I'm looking into packaging our repo key, https://www.drupal.org/node/2886519 based on docs from anarcat.

[05:22:48]<ouelmart>hi, we are trying to migrate aegir-3.9 to aegir-3.11 but it hangs on "Platforms path /var/aegir/platforms is writable." and nothing happen after that. what are we doing wrong? it seems to have a queue that wait to proceess element but i can't see them
[05:23:34]<ouelmart>i ran "drush hosting-queued" and it just wait.
[05:24:17]<ouelmart>and when we run "drush --backend=2 --yes @hostmaster hosting-pause" manually it tells us "Waiting for the task queue to be processed and tasks to complete."
[05:28:03]<ouelmart>more info.... Hi,
[05:28:03]<ouelmart>When trying to upgrade Aegir3 from 3.9 to 3.11,
[05:28:03]<ouelmart>- the process gets stuck after the task "Platforms path /var/aegir/platforms is writable. [success]"
[05:28:03]<ouelmart>- and launches the process "php /usr/local/bin/drush --backend=2 --yes @hostmaster hosting-pause".
[05:28:03]<ouelmart>If I kill the drush process, of course, the installation/configuration fails.
[05:28:04]<ouelmart>All of this seems to come from the post install script of aegir3-hostmaster. I have found several bug reports related but they all seemed to be "fixed" with version prior to the one used here.
[05:28:07]<ouelmart>All packages are installed through the APT package manager.

[05:34:04]<viashimo>ouelmart: pastebin etc. are probably better for pasting lots of text to hare
[05:34:37]<viashimo>ouelmart: regardless. some tasks may running status in the database but have failed in the task runner for some reason
[05:36:22]<viashimo>ouelmart: you can check in the database. drush @hostmaster sqlc "select * from hosting_task where task_status = -1"
[05:36:26]<ouelmart>in the "queue" table? can i just remove them from the Database? in
[05:37:24]<ouelmart>yep i got 1 task in there
[05:38:02]<viashimo>ouelmart: if you're certain it's not being run, you can update the task_status to 2 (error) and re-run the upgrade
[05:38:14]<viashimo>it could easily be success/warning as well
[05:42:31]<viashimo>ouelmart: there's a recent addition that should timeout that wait after a certain mount of time and force the proces to finish. it should remove problems related to crufty old tasks like that blocking upgrades
[05:44:49]<ouelmart>thanks a lot i fix my task, and we'll see if this fix that :)
[05:45:20]<viashimo>ouelmart: np. hope it works :)
[05:45:47]<ouelmart>by the way what is pastebin ?
[05:46:16]<viashimo>pastebin.com (and there are many other similar ones). it lets you paste random text and share a link to it
[05:46:34]<viashimo>eg. https://pastebin.com/A521LSKM
[05:46:54]<ouelmart>oh! ty
[05:47:02]<ouelmart>usefull
[06:04:39]<gusaus>Probably out of scope for this developer room, but jonpugh thought this would be a good time to redirect the Aegir coop members involved in collaborating with groups in OpenCollective to this thread https://opencollective.slack.com/archives/C22E2D2F2/p1495653860059693 cc ergonlogic[m] :)
