[06:09:11]<roycroft>hello, aegerites
[06:10:48]<roycroft>i am attempting to import a drupal 7 site into aegir 3, and it's not going well this time (i've succeeded with other sites in the past)
[06:10:59]<roycroft>i make a tarball of the drupal site on its current host
[06:11:15]<roycroft>extract that into /var/aegir/platforms on the aegir master
[06:11:20]<roycroft>rename it, fix permissions/ownership
[06:11:33]<roycroft>i move sites/default to sites/hostname.domain.com
[06:11:53]<roycroft>then create the database
[06:12:08]<roycroft>populate it with data from the non-aegir site
[06:12:15]<roycroft>then add and verify the platform
[06:12:38]<roycroft>that all goes well, but when it tries to verify the site i get some warnings such as:
[06:12:52]<roycroft>nserialize(): Error at offset 1881 of 17099 bytes cache.inc:434
[06:13:03]<roycroft>Invalid argument supplied for foreach() registry.inc:89
[06:13:27]<roycroft>and similar errors for field.attach.inc
[06:13:47]<roycroft>i can enable the site anyway, but i cannot migrate or clone it to something that will work on the aegir master
[06:14:03]<roycroft>my google fu is not helping me sort out what those errors/warnings mean
[06:14:16]<roycroft>if anyone here can enlighten me i should appreciate it
[06:14:53]<roycroft>oh, all these warnings/errors come immediately after this:
[06:14:57]<roycroft>Calling hook drush_provision_drupal_post_provision_verify
[07:27:54]<gandhiano[m]>roycroft: I always create the platform first, then add a blank site, and then populate its database/files from the backup.
[07:28:06]<roycroft>i've done that in the past
[07:28:14]<roycroft>it failed in different ways when i tried it with this site
[07:28:23]<roycroft>i can give it another go though
[07:28:42]<gandhiano[m]>do you have the same module versions?
[07:28:43]<roycroft>and report different errors :)
[07:28:55]<roycroft>i copied the complete site
[07:28:59]<gandhiano[m]>should be, same codebase
[07:29:00]<gandhiano[m]>yes
[07:29:03]<roycroft>i made a tarball of /var/www/html
[07:29:11]<roycroft>and extracted it on the aegir master as a platform
[07:29:16]<roycroft>so everything is identical
[07:29:35]<roycroft>let me do it with a blank site first
[07:29:39]<gandhiano[m]>did you rebuild registry?
[07:29:42]<roycroft>no
[07:29:46]<roycroft>i don't know anything about doing that
[07:29:56]<gandhiano[m]>drush rr && drush cc all
[07:30:01]<roycroft>i didn't do it before when i imported new sites
[07:30:08]<roycroft>from where?
[07:30:11]<roycroft>the platform root?
[07:30:11]<gandhiano[m]>you should
[07:30:56]<roycroft>oh, from the site root
[07:30:58]<roycroft>and it fails
[07:31:00]<gandhiano[m]>from the site root (sites/site.name). I think you can also run it from the aegir UI
[07:32:23]<roycroft>i tried drush cache-clear and got an error when trying to clear the registry
[07:32:46]<gandhiano[m]>which error?
[07:32:50]<roycroft>PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function lock_acquire() in /var/aegir/platforms/myplatform/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 3205

[07:34:38]<gandhiano[m]>does your site have changes to the core?
[07:35:04]<roycroft>probably
[07:35:09]<roycroft>it's a site my boss developed
[07:35:15]<roycroft>and i'm in the usual situation
[07:35:21]<roycroft>he demands that i import it into aegur
[07:35:23]<roycroft>aegir
[07:35:27]<roycroft>he does not document his work
[07:35:34]<roycroft>and he refuses to answer questions about it
[07:35:49]<roycroft>probably because he can't remember, which is why he should document his work :)
[07:36:55]<roycroft>i guess i can figure out what version of drupal 7 this is, download that version, and check to see what he might have changed
[07:37:13]<roycroft>it's 7.32, so that's encouraging
[07:37:22]<roycroft>at least it's not a really really old version :)
[07:38:30]<roycroft>everything in the includes directory has the same timestamp, so it's unlikely (but not impossible) that he changed anything there
[07:41:47]<roycroft>so perhaps another clue
[07:42:48]<roycroft>when i verified the platform and it imported the site, it did not stick the database credentials in /var/aegir/config/server_master/apache/vhost.d/mysite.com
[07:42:48]<gandhiano[m]>try running rr again, after cc all. I don't have another idea from the description.
[07:43:00]<roycroft>i had to add the credentials there manually
[07:43:10]<roycroft>they were in the settings.php file though
[07:43:13]<roycroft>until the import
[07:43:27]<roycroft>rr is an unrecognized command
[07:43:40]<roycroft>drush rr fails and suggests i run drush cache-clear
[07:44:31]<roycroft>t$ drush rr
[07:44:33]<roycroft>The drush command 'rr' could not be found.
[07:44:37]<gandhiano[m]>you need to add the registry-rebuild plugin to drush then
[07:45:41]<gandhiano[m]>or run a php snippet equivalent to it
[07:46:50]<roycroft>grr
[07:47:17]<roycroft>$ drush @mysite.com rr
[07:47:19]<roycroft>You need to specify an alias or run this command within a drupal [error]
[07:47:21]<roycroft>site.
[07:47:28]<roycroft>and i am doing it within a drupal site
[07:47:31]<roycroft>and specifying an alias
[07:47:48]<roycroft>it seems to think there is no such site
[07:48:08]<roycroft>yet the site exists, and is enabled
[07:48:34]<roycroft>the site does not resolve to any local ip though, but i don't think drush cares about that, does it?
[07:48:40]<roycroft>i imported it with its original site name
[07:49:04]<roycroft>and intended to migrate it to something that resolves to the aegir master after it verifies
[07:49:50]<gandhiano[m]>are you on the site folder inside sites/?
[07:49:57]<roycroft> yes
[07:50:05]<roycroft>i'm in var/aegir/platforms/myplatform/mysite.com
[07:50:18]<roycroft>and drush rr gives me that error
[07:50:27]<roycroft>as does drush @mysite.com rr
[07:50:42]<roycroft>leading / of course :)
[07:51:46]<roycroft>i can try nuking the site and platform, readding the platform, creating a blank site, and then restoring the files and database
[07:52:06]<roycroft>i'll get a bunch of errors, but that link you posted suggetes that drush rr might fix those errors
[07:52:23]<gandhiano[m]>you may want to follow this one: https://learn.omega8.cc/import-your-sites-to-aegir-in-8-easy-steps-109
[07:52:32]<roycroft>yes, i have used that in the past
[07:52:36]<gandhiano[m]>it's BOA specific, but may help you anyway
[07:52:37]<roycroft>this site is being problematic
[07:52:40]<roycroft>others have not been
[07:52:49]<roycroft>that's my real frustration
[07:52:54]<roycroft>i have imported several sites
[07:53:08]<roycroft>and it was expected by both my boss and myself that this one would import without issue
[07:53:22]<roycroft>although he has written a bunch of local code for this particular site
[07:53:31]<roycroft>and hasn't for the others
[07:53:37]<roycroft>it's not his code that's the problem, of course :)
[07:53:45]* roycroft knows that is what he'll be told
[07:53:56]<gandhiano[m]>then you need probably to identify that code (in a module? where?) and disable it
[07:54:28]<roycroft>that's the thing - i have no idea what he's done
[07:54:39]<gandhiano[m]>can you check if your drush registry-rebuild works on other sites?
[07:54:42]<roycroft>it would take me a while to identify it all
[07:54:46]<roycroft>yeah
[07:54:48]<roycroft>one moment
[07:55:26]<roycroft>works fine on a different site
[07:55:32]<roycroft>so that's good
[07:55:43]<roycroft>and i tested on a site that i imported from a stand-alone site
[07:57:09]<roycroft>i'm supposed to be off work in 3 minutes
[07:57:16]<roycroft>but now i want to know if drush rr will fix the problem
[07:57:22]<roycroft>so i guess i'll be working a few minutes late today
[07:57:50]<gandhiano[m]>what modules do you have there? some memcache, redis, or any performance-related ones?
[07:58:06]<roycroft>i'll let you know in a bit
[07:58:10]<roycroft>i just nuked the platform
[07:58:53]<gandhiano[m]>disable the bootstrap module
[07:59:15]<roycroft>after i generate the blank site?
[07:59:58]<gandhiano[m]>sorry, ignore what I said. That bootstrap.inc is the core stuff
[08:00:09]<roycroft>i can get a blank site just fine
[08:00:12]<gandhiano[m]>check for redis, memcache, or other performance/caching related modules and disable them all
[08:00:16]<roycroft>ok
[08:01:14]<gandhiano[m]>I'm out for sleep, wish you good luck.
[08:01:55]<roycroft>thanks
[08:01:58]<roycroft>adding platform back now
[08:02:02]<roycroft>i should know shortly

[08:25:14]<roycroft>the migration task is taking far longer than it's ever taken before
