[03:50:01]<roycroft>hi folks
[03:50:10]<roycroft>i have a strange issue today
[03:50:41]<roycroft>we have a development machine, and have wildcard dns for a domain pointing to an ip address on that machine
[03:51:44]<roycroft>if i clone a site, say, site1.foo.com, to site2.foo.com, any time i change the system config on one of the sites the changes affect both sites
[03:51:55]<roycroft>i.e. i change the sitename on one and it changes it on both
[03:53:09]<roycroft>looking at the apache logs i see that i'm loading each site discretely, so it's not some kind of redirect thing
[03:53:20]<roycroft>and i've confirmed that each site has its own database
[03:53:38]<roycroft>so i'm not sure what is going on - any ideas?
[05:12:50]<roycroft>so if i clone a platform, and clone a site to the new platform, the cloned site and its parent are no longer "linked"
[05:13:06]<roycroft>but i can't find anything anywhere that would "link" them

[08:10:29]<hefring>sudo make me a sandwich!
[08:10:29]<hefring>memtkmcc: 5 days 3 min ago <jonpugh[m]> Tell memtkmcc to get on riot.im so you will always be online! ;)
[08:10:29]<hefring>memtkmcc: 4 days 23 hours ago <colan> Tell memtkmcc You can use that client for all Drupal IRC channels as I've been doing: https://gist.github.com/fstab/ce805d3001600ac147b79d413668770d#how-to-us...
[08:10:46]<jonpugh[m]>hah!
[08:11:18]<memtkmcc[m]>yeah, thanks for the hints!
[08:20:26]* memtkmcc[m] is now known as memtkmcc[m]1

[08:38:15]<jonpugh[m]>I don't use vector, riot works just fine without any room hacks
[08:38:36]<jonpugh[m]>And my username isn't cluttered up by matrix ;)
[08:41:20]<memtkmcc>jonpugh: I'm using Riot, as you suggested, and then followed colan's suggestion to register my freenode nick https://gist.github.com/fstab/ce805d3001600ac147b79d413668770d#how-to-us...
[08:41:50]<jonpugh[m]>Ah I think that must be the part
[08:42:11]<jonpugh[m]>@freenode_memtkmcc[m]:matrix.org: that's your username as I see it.
[08:42:13]<memtkmcc>also, vector.im is now Riot, I think?
[08:42:58]<jonpugh[m]>Og :)
[08:43:09]<jonpugh[m]>Oh :)
[08:43:11]<memtkmcc>That is exactly as I see your username, too..
[08:43:25]<jonpugh[m]>Hrmmm
[08:43:33]<jonpugh[m]>That sucks
[08:43:34]<memtkmcc>I just see my username as the original from freenode
[08:44:13]* jonpugh[m] uploaded an image: file1508276649354.png (240KB) <https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v1/download/matrix.org/APDtQqysZJnxYnkJ...
[08:44:14]<jonpugh[m]>Yeah...
[08:44:41]<jonpugh[m]>Oh well
[08:44:53]<memtkmcc>Here is how I see it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ak791cknt0crjx2/Screenshot%202017-10-17%2023.4...
[08:46:38]<jonpugh[m]>sigh
[08:47:45]<memtkmcc>now, when you look at https://hefring.mig5.net, you will see your nick as <jonpugh[m]> and mine as <memtkmcc> (via Riot)
[08:54:12]<memtkmcc>OK, so I will be still "online" after closing the Riot app? Let's see..
[08:56:30]<memtkmcc>Indeed, very nice that it just works, I'm ready to drop that Adium thing..
[08:58:16]* memtkmcc1 has quit (Quit: Leaving.)
[09:05:51]<memtkmcc>oh, it was not really intended in this room
[09:09:38]<memtkmcc>nice, I can delete the event added by mistake, but if I delete my post, it is still archived on hefring.mig5.net
[09:16:34]<memtkmcc>jonpugh: so it seems that users see their own nick as "clean" but the rest of the world will see that long alias thing instead, even if I have registered my nick, as suggested? That is weird..
[09:19:09]<memtkmcc>but again, that long alias is visible only in Riot, it's not visible when you look via IRC client and in the hefring archive. They should hide it by default and display only in the extended profile view perhaps
