[11:12:56]<viashimo>mstenta: I don't think it should change much to switch the actual hostname of the server; unless you want to remove the old hostname from the hostmaster site

[11:17:42]<HaloFX>I am having a problem with a new Aegir install on Ubuntu 16.04. I have a make file that pull in projects from BitBucket. The make file works fine from the command line. But fails with the Aegir GUI.
[11:19:18]<viashimo>HaloFX: is there a specific error in the task log?
[11:22:39]<HaloFX>The Task Log just says Unable to Clone the project, then it says failed see the log above.
[11:23:54]<HaloFX>The dlog message says Missing text format: 1.
[11:24:02]<viashimo>hmm
[11:24:27]<viashimo>when you build it in the command line, what user are using?
[11:28:01]<HaloFX>Aegir

[12:37:56]* HaloFX has joined #aegir
[12:43:03]<HaloFX>Is there any documentation out there on best practices of handling Drupal 8 config with Aegir? I am currently using Make files to build platforms, just because that is what I am used to from D6 & D8.
[12:49:00]<viashimo>hmm there's a hosting composer module which might help in certain cases. I'm not too sure what else folks have being doing with d8
[12:49:19]<viashimo>i've deployed platforms with other tools and then just added them to the interface afterwards as well
[13:06:49]<HaloFX>I don't see any docs on the hosting composer, and I am generally trying to steer clear of composer as much as possible. It really causes me fits, and is stupid slow.
[13:08:35]<HaloFX>Just have one D8 site under Aegir now, and am struggling to get a workflow setup. Used to using features.
[13:09:56]<jonpugh1>Try my module https://www.drupal.org/project/aegir_config
[13:10:28]<jonpugh1>It has tasks for import and export config
[13:10:42]<HaloFX>Does it play well with config split?
[13:11:33]<jonpugh1>All it does is run drush config-export and import
[13:11:57]<HaloFX>Ok, I will dig deeper. Thanks.
[13:12:03]<jonpugh1>I haven't used config split yet
[13:13:16]<HaloFX>Also wanting to tackle Let's Encrypt with Aegir. Can this be done with remotes? Or does the Aegir server have to be on a public site?
[13:14:42]<jonpugh1>Already done :)
[13:15:09]<jonpugh1>https://gitlab.com/aegir/hosting_https
[13:15:10]<jonpugh1>Aegir / Aegir HTTPS · GitLab
[13:17:19]<jonpugh1>The site being encrypted must be public so let's encrypt can verify it.
[13:17:35]<HaloFX>The Aegir install can be local, and the public server can be just a remote, with no Aegir install? I tried it once, but ran into trouble. Just dropped it for another day.
[14:26:46]<jonpugh1>Dunno haven't tried. helmo and colan are trying to get it ready for release. If there is an issue with remotes I'm sure they would want to know
[15:05:52]<colan>HaloFX: the Web server hosting the site must be public.
[15:25:50]<HaloFX>colan: But does Aegir have to be on it? Can the webserver be an Aegir Remote?

[05:04:08]<colan>hefring: tell HaloFX Not sure myself, but I believe helmo looked into making sure this worked. See https://gitlab.com/aegir/hosting_https/issues/40
[05:04:08]<hefring>colan: I'll pass that on when HaloFX is around.
[05:38:29]<helmo42[m]>hefring: tell HaloFX Yes Aegir can be running on the 'master' server which could be local ... the slave server can even do without Drush ... and LetsEncrypt validation is handled via the remote server.
[05:38:29]<hefring>helmo42[m]: I'll pass that on when HaloFX is around.
[05:45:49]<helmo42[m]>colan: https://gitlab.com/aegir/hosting_https/issues/29 starts about golden contrib but lets create a set of child issues in the new D.o queue
[05:46:52]<helmo42[m]>colan: johnpugh, about yhr transition ... the h_https readme file has a few steps to follow for that.
