[00:24:30]<seidler>hi everybody. I've got a problem - our Aegir instance doesn't queue any new automatic tasks (like backups, backups-delete) etc. since our upgrade to 3.144
[00:24:53]<seidler>hosting-queued is running fine and executing tasks I start for sites
[00:25:36]<helmo42[m]>is the cronjob running?
[00:26:29]<seidler>cronjob?
[00:26:53]<seidler>we didn't have one before, is there one needed now?
[00:28:38]<helmo42[m]>It has always been there ... that's wat trigers the backup tasks
[00:28:44]<helmo42[m]>* * * * * /usr/bin/env php /usr/bin/drush '@hostmaster' hosting-dispatch
[00:29:38]<helmo42[m]>The installation normally sets that up for you
[00:30:45]<seidler>so we need this cron job even with hosting-queued?
[00:31:27]<helmo42[m]>yes
[00:32:20]<seidler>ok, then we'll need to put this in our Puppet code
[00:32:30]<seidler>thanks a lot, seems like that was what we were missing
[00:34:03]<seidler>is that documented somewhere? or is it just that the installer creates the cron job and it must be left alone?
[00:38:36]<helmo42[m]>The code is in _hosting_setup_cron() which is called on installation and on upgrades (drush hostmaster-migrate)

[01:20:17]<milovan>hi, http://docs.aegirproject.org/en/3.x/usage/advanced/ssl/ doc is outdated or? It shows SSL under Experimental, while that way is now under Optional and flagged as legacy. Under experimental there seems to be some new stuff for SSL which appears to be a better solution but there is no documentation about it. Whats the preffered way of enabling SSL on aegir 3.14?
[01:29:58]<colan>milovan: sorry, yes, we need to update the docs. https://www.drupal.org/project/hosting_https
[01:30:01]<colan>^^^^ the new way to do it.
[01:30:38]<milovan>colan: great, thanks!
[01:33:10]<milovan>Basically, if I have Apache, I should enable Apache HTTPS support and then one of the foloowing (based on my choice): LE, Self signed?
[01:34:09]<colan>milovan: indeed.
[01:34:32]<colan>the doc page there should be up-to-date

[01:41:38]<colan>milovan: you should be fine if you follow https://matteobrusa.github.io/md-styler/?url=cgit.drupalcode.org/pki_ra/...
[01:54:18]<milovan>colan: thanks a bunch for your help. Just tested it out, works great! Now the only thing left is to give a try to LE on a new instance :-)

[02:33:51]<milovan>Has been SNI or wildcard self signed certificate removed with this new HTTPS way, so that now each site gets its own self signed certificate instead reusing one for all?

[06:06:50]<helmo42[m]>milovan: sort of ... with the rise of LetsEncrypt it's easier then ever to give each site it's own cert
[06:07:20]<helmo42[m]>The manual certificate service sub-module in there would be the alternative
[06:20:27]<milovan>helmo42[m]: I got it. Though when you have some local only dev server which have no DNS record (access to domain from net), LE is of no use. Then, as a solution, you can be your own CA and create one server key, instead creating keys for all sites
[06:26:28]<milovan>not a big issue, could be one nice side project for me
[06:27:58]<helmo42[m]>We have two open issues/feature requests relating to this ... https://www.drupal.org/project/hosting_https/issues/2936039 and https://www.drupal.org/project/hosting_https/issues/2936037
