[22:26:12]<shaneonabike>hey folks... using nginx has anyone been able to set a custom php version.. my settings don't seem to hold
[22:37:22]<bgm[m]>what kind of config are you using?
[22:37:48]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: hostmaster... but i have a d6
[22:37:55]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: which doesn't work with 7.2
[22:38:23]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: the only solution i found was to copy the vhost common and replace php7.2 with php5.6
[22:38:30]<shaneonabike>then relink that to the vhost reference
[22:38:36]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: is that even sensible?
[23:06:49]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: hmm maybe not
[23:07:12]<shaneonabike>looks like it keeps report php 7.2 on drush status... i can't even get drush cc to work after I had to import hte old site
[23:15:08]<bgm[m]>on the command line, you might be able to use php-5.6 cli by temporarily defining a bash alias
[23:15:53]<bgm[m]>even if you managed to configure the vhost, I think most backend/provision commands would fail, because the CLI doesn't support switching PHP versions, it will always use the default system php-cli
[23:16:46]<shaneonabike>ok i think this might be also the reason tha tdrush isn't working
[23:17:06]<shaneonabike>crud i never had this issue previously
[23:18:08]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: (if you have time) can you explain what you mean by temporarily setting a bash alias
[23:18:36]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: btw i just checked a d7 site and it's just fine so i think htat is the issue
[23:19:23]<bgm[m]>type: alias php=/usr/bin/php5.6 (or something like that, assuming that's where the PHP 5.6 binary is)
[23:21:09]<shaneonabike>hmmm bgm[m] maybe it's not worth it cause i need other sites on here... idealy so i might just have to pull the d6 right out of hostmaster
[23:21:25]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: oh wait even if I do that i can't use drush
[23:21:46]<bgm[m]>you can if you tell drush to use php 5.6
[23:22:10]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: ok like in the drush alias?
[23:22:24]<bgm[m]>but you may as well host the site on a separate server. it's just lots of duct tape.. not worth the trouble
[23:23:16]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: a lot of duck tape for a sinking ship haha
[23:23:53]<bgm[m]>yup :)

[03:36:26]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: are you free for a quick question
[03:38:35]<shaneonabike>actually anyone
[03:38:47]<shaneonabike>I'm curious if someone has put solo sites on the same server beside hostmaster
[03:39:08]<shaneonabike>i have a d6 which I can't get workign in hostmaster (it worked before but not now) and I'd like to just have it on the same server
[03:39:21]<shaneonabike>I created a sites-available in nginx but it doesn't seem to work
[03:46:31]<bgm[m]>did you also symlink in sites-enabled?
[03:46:38]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: yep
[03:46:44]<shaneonabike>but i get 404 not found
[03:47:09]<shaneonabike>it's hard to debug haha
[03:47:32]<shaneonabike>i took nginx's base for drupal to use as a reference
[03:48:18]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: for the listen I put *:80 default_server
[03:48:32]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: b/c I figure it needs to not be the server that is defined for hostmaster
[03:51:45]<bgm[m]>I'm not sure what that means.
[03:52:22]<shaneonabike>bgm[m]: on the listener I was thinking i needed to add a defined server block
[03:57:13]<bgm[m]>i don't think it's necessary, that would be to define the default vhost?
[03:57:14]<bgm[m]>you should be able to copy the vhost that was generated for the site, and include your php56 copy for the common-includes
[03:57:33]<shaneonabike>hrm i tried that but it didn't work tragically
