[04:09:14]<shaneonabike>Montreal coworking?
[04:36:20]<bgm[m]>Is there a way to get Drush10 working on Aegir for a specific site? A developer is asking us to support it because there are some specific commands they want to use (config-split).
[04:39:46]<colan[m]>bgm: Maybe install it, do the thing, and then remove it? You just [can't have global Drush 8 delegating to it](https://www.drupal.org/project/provision/issues/2953349) when Aegir tries to do stuff.
[04:39:48]<hefring>https://www.drupal.org/project/provision/issues/2953349 => Aegir 3 is incompatible with Drush 9+ [#2953349] => 58 comments, 4 IRC mentions
[04:41:00]<colan[m]>If newer Drush still supported remotes, I'd suggest just run it locally & target the Aegir site, but that's gone, right?
[04:42:29]<bgm[m]>if I understood correctly, there was issues with drush connecting to the db, so probably as you say something with the target site/alias
[04:42:59]<bgm[m]>but I'll double-check the issue, thanks for the lead
[04:43:29]<colan[m]>let us know :)

[04:50:06]<ledcopelin[m]>Hi, I am the one having the problem with drush. I am developing Drupal 8 on an Aegir VM. I want to use config split and it is using config filter that depends on drush 10.
[04:50:39]* shaneonabike has left #aegir ()
[04:51:28]<ledcopelin[m]>When I ran drush in my site directory it said t was not connected to anything. So I converted the drush 8 aliases to drush 9/10 alias and tried it to no avail. It still does not connect to the DB. Any pointers?
[04:51:59]<ledcopelin[m]>I want to run it only on my local VM.
[04:52:11]<bgm[m]>ledcopelin: could you post the exact error, for reference?
[04:53:16]<bgm[m]>(we'll try to look at it later this afternoon)

[05:26:15]<bgm[m]>ledcopelin: Can you check if your local aegir install has these patches? https://www.drupal.org/project/provision/issues/3150004#comment-13771270
[05:26:16]<hefring>https://www.drupal.org/project/provision/issues/3150004 => BOA backport Drupal 9 support [#3150004] => 6 comments, 1 IRC mention
[05:26:49]<bgm[m]>my servers use the debian packages, and on version 3.186, I don't see those patches
[05:34:02]<ledcopelin[m]>Where could I look for? I don't see the files mentioned in there on my local VM.
[06:09:00]<helmo42[m]>To test the patches from that issue you could also use the testing repo `deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/aegir-archive-keyring.gpg] https://debian.aegirproject.org testing main`
[06:10:43]<helmo42[m]>Then an `apt upgrade` should update to 3.190~beta1
[06:29:37]<bgm[m]>helmo42: thanks!
[06:29:56]<bgm[m]>ledcopelin: can you try upgrading? ^
[06:30:20]<ledcopelin[m]>From my VM?
[06:31:21]<bgm[m]>yep
[06:40:52]<ledcopelin[m]>Planté
[08:12:23]<bgm[m]>Neat so we kind of got drush10 working: upgraded to aegir beta using the package, ran provision-verify on the site, but then had to add "require 'drushrc.php';" in the settings.php, otherwise it would not find the database credentials.
